Girls Basketball Results

The Moran girls basketball team improved their record to 5-0 with a 43-14 win over Washington Middle School of Meriden. Leading the scoring for Moran were Megan Wresien and Olivia Cassesse …but it was the physical play of Kaitlyn Bailey and Brooklyn Stanley that really pushed Moran ahead.

The JV team improved their record to 4-1 by beating their opponent 20-3.

The Moran girls next game is today against DePaolo. GO MUSTANGS!!!

Girls Basketball Results

The Moran girls basketball team improved their record to 4-0 with a win over Dodd of Cheshire. Olivia Cassesse led all scorers with 16 followed by Isabella Perno and Jenna Wresien with 6 each. The Mustangs strong defense and excellent rebounding are what really put Moran at an advantage. Final score was Moran 45 and Dodd 22. The Lady Mustangs next home game is this Friday against Washington Middle School…come out and support the team.

Girls Basketball Results

The Moran girls basketball team absolutely dominated Lincoln Middle School on Friday afternoon with a final score of 68-13. Megan Wresien led the scoring onslaught with 16 points but every player on the roster registered points in the game. The girls improve their record to 3-0. Our next game is today, vs Dodd Middle School of Cheshire. Come out and support the team.

Cross Country Results

The Moran Cross Country teams competed in the State of CT Middle School Championships on Saturday, November 2nd, 2019 at Wickham Park in Manchester. Moran had a total of 40 runners competing.

In the Girls B Race West:
Keri Allardice and Finnian Dubuc finished 40th and 45th respectively out of 273 runners earning each of them a medal.

In the Boys B Race West:
Adithya Nataraj finished 42nd out of 354 racers earning him a medal. Bryan Medina and Garrett McHugh just missed a top 50 finish with a 52nd and 58th place finish respectively.

In the Girls A Race West:
Both Jenna Wresien and Lauren Sinatra finished in the top 70 out of 377 runners.

In the Boys A Race West:
Andy You was Moran’s top finisher with a top 80 finish out of 417 runners.

As a school, Moran placed 14th out of 28 in the state for boys and 9th out of 25 for girls.

All in all…. our athletes competed to the best of their abilities and represented Moran well at the venue.

Cross Country Results

On Friday, both the Moran Girls’ & Boys’ Cross-Country teams each took first place in the meet held against Dag, Lincoln, Washington, and Holy Trinity. Each team came away with 4 wins and zero losses in the meet.

Sixth grader, Jenna Wresien continues to dominate as she once again took first place this time out of 50 runners followed soon after by Lauren Sinatra in 3rd, Katie Lombino 5th, Isabelle Hodum 6th, Nalyssa Nhatavong 8th, Janalie Gilhuly 10th, Ava Raffone 11th, and Keri Allardice 13th.

The Lady Mustangs’ record is now 9 wins and 2 losses and are 2nd in the League Standings.

The Mustangs XC record is now 6 wins with 5 losses and are 4th in the League Standings.

Cross Country Results

On Wednesday of last week, the Girls and Boys’ Cross-Country teams competed against 5 other league schools including Moran, Dodd, Washington, Lincoln, Kennedy, and DePaolo.

Results of the Girls’ Cross-Country Race:
Moran took 2nd in the meet and only lost to DePaolo. There were 85 runners in the girls race. Having another amazing performance was 6th grader Jenna Wresien finishing in 2nd place overall in the meet and first for Moran and finishing just 14 second behind the 1st runner. Others that did well in the meet were Katie Lombino in 11th, Lauren Sinatra 14th, Isabella Hodum 15th, Ava Raffone 18th, and Janalie Gilhuly 20th.

The Lady Mustangs XC record is now 5 wins with 2 losses and are 2nd in League Standings.

Results of the Boys’ Cross-Country Race:
Moran took 4th in the meet. There were 137 runners in the boys race. Top five Moran finishers were Andy You in 8th, Owen Hotaling in 10th, Devin Welch in 16th, Ryan Carmen in 30th, and Arnold Dominguez in 31st.

The Mustangs XC record is now 2 wins with 5 losses and are 5th in League Standings.

The next meet for the Moran Cross-Country team is This Friday, October 25th at Home against Dag, Washington, Lincoln, and Holy Trinity. Good Luck and Go Mustangs!!!

Yesterday the Girls’ and Boys’ Cross-Country teams competed against Dodd MS of Cheshire both teams came away with a loss.

On Friday the girls and boys cross-country teams competed in the Southington Distance Festival. Races were run by grade level and gender. The Runners that finished in the top 15 places in their race for Moran were:
