Track & Field State Championship
On Saturday, select members of the the Moran Track & Field team competed in the 12th annual Middle School Track & Field State Championships. There were 23 members of the girls and boys teams that represented Moran. Placing in the top 8 places in their events and receiving medals were:
Maya Wresien placing 4th in the State
The girls 4×100 meter relay team (6th place) consisting of:
Joy Peterkin, Natalie Jones, Jayden Smith, and Grace Keenan
The girls 4×400 meter relay team (6th place) consisting of:
Angelika Kotula, Katie Lombino, Grace Furtado, and Maya Wresien
The boys 4×800 meter relay team (6th placet) consisting of:
Ronan Liu, Kieran Liu, Aaron Mansfield, and Shaine Salvador

Track & Field Results
The girls’ and boys’ track teams both suffered losses to McGee from Berlin on Wednesday. First place finishers for Moran included: Joy Peterkin, Maya Wresien, Natalie Jones, Katie Lombino, Jayden Smith, Shaine Salvador, and Kieran Liu. The boys finished with a 500 record at 3-3 to finish 2nd place overall in the league. The girls finished 5-1 and finished 1st place in the league. 23 athletes will be moving on to compete at the CT State Middle School Championships on Saturday May 25th.
Track & Field
Yesterday the girls and boys Track & Field teams started their season off competing against Lincoln and Washington Middles Schools in a Tri-Meet. Both the girls and boys’ teams won the meet beating both schools by substantial margins.
Finishing first in their events for the girls were Maya Wresien, Joy Peterkin, Katie Lombino, Jayden Smith, Emmalyn Rodriguez, Grace Furtado, Casey Deans, and Natalie Jones.
Finishing first in their events for the boys were John Gogliettino, Shanie Salvador, Kieran Liu, and Ronan Liu
The team record for each of the girls and boys team is 2 wins and 0 losses.
