Good afternoon,

Presenter Josh Gunderson will be coming to Moran to talk with students and parents on October 22nd.  His presentation, entitled “My Digital Life” will deal with the benefits and hazards of social media use.   This presentation is in response to 1) our desire to provide as much education as possible for students who are using electronic devices on a daily basis that give them unprecedented access to the world, 2) an uptick in disciplinary issues surrounding online use, 3) a call from parents for resources to help their children navigate social media use in a safe, and developmentally appropriate way.

We will run an alternate building schedule that day, which will be tweaked to accommodate 2 presentations and will offer an evening session for parents at 7 pm in the Sheehan auditorium.  Full details in terms of schedule to follow but we will likely run 1 session from 8:10-8:55 for grade 6 and Rising Stars, and the second from 9-9:45 for SuperNovas and grade 8.  We will have a definitive schedule early next week.
