In a 10 inning thriller Moran scored in the bottom of the 10th to win their final game of the season against cross town rival Dag. Zach Fazzino went 7 strong innings allowing only 2 hits. Danny Hager entered in the 8th innings and shut down the Dag offensive. Down 1 to 0 in the bottom of the 9th with Mark Grasso scored on a ground ball past the pitcher to tie the game at 1. In the bottom of the 10th Adam Leone crushed a lead off double. Advancing to 3rd Leone was in scoring position. With 2 outs Leone aggressively stolen home on pass ball by the catcher to win the game for the Mustangs. As the season comes to an end I am extremely proud of my players and their accomplishments this year. Go Mustangs!
The bats started to wake up some in the second part of a home and home vs Kennedy of Southington yesterday. After being 1 hit on Friday, the Lady Mustangs hammered out 8 hits to score 6 runs but fell short 13-6. The offense was led by Alexandra Tenero’s 2 singles and 2 RBIs. Nicole Dorsey scored 3 times thanks in part to a long triple to left from Mia Ferry and a double from Te’a Martin. Lauren Lindberg, Sammi Fers and Caitlin Hunt also singled. Feery also struck out 3.
The Lady Mustangs close out the season, Wednesday vs Dag…

The Lady Mustang bats were shut down on Friday, with the exception of Jess Davies single to right in a frustrating 6-0 loss at Kennedy. Moran struck out 8 times, 9 ground outs and 4 pop ups….
Mia Ferry kept Moran in the game scattering 5 hits thru 6 innings while striking out 7. Ferry only gave up 2 earned runs.
The Lady Mustangs close out the season at home on Thursday vs cross town rival Dag Hammarskjold. Come on down….
After a tough first inning and 6 errors Moran fell to Kennedy. Moran looks to rebound in their final home game vs Dag next Thursday. Zach Fazzino and Nate DeMaio went 1 for 2 as Dev Patel came in for relief for the Mustangs.
The Moran Lady Mustang Softball Team came out on Friday to avenge an earlier loss to a feisty Strong Middle School team in Durham. The Ladies used singles by Nicole Dorsey, Te’a Martin, Mia Ferry, Sammi Fers and Caitlyn Hunt to open up a 3 run lead before Strong had a chance to bat.
It was the defense that shined. Aleiya Noone grabbed a single to deep center hit Mia Ferry on the cutoff and Sammi Fers applied the tag at home. Fers threw out one runner trying to steal and picked off another runner at third along with Nicole Dorsey got a speedy runner in a pickle and again applied a tag. A line drive to Te’a Martin playing the short stop position, doubled off a runner at first thanks to a great throw and a long stretch by Caitlyn Hunt..
Colleen Kelley came in for defensive purposes and had a put out in left, while Jess Davies singled along with Summer van Dyke and each had an RBI. Again the Lady Mustangs hammered out 15 singles and Ferry again had 6 K’s and scattered 7 hits.
The record is now 5 and 4 with 2 games left.
